How can I place a hold on a book?
If an item is checked out to someone else, you can place a hold to be the next person in line to get the item.
If an item you've found in OneSearch has Status: DUE (with a date), then the item is checked out. Click the Place a hold link (as circled in the picture below).
Log in with your portal ID and password to place the hold. After the item is returned, you will get an email saying that it is available. You will have a week to pick it up at Guest Services in the lobby.
Books that are available on the shelf cannot be put on hold. Reserve items cannot be put on hold.
